In Memory of Helen McMillan – Public Relations – 2000-2016
On June 29, 2016, we said our final good-byes to The Lindsay Foundation Public Relations Director, and my Mom, and Lindsay’s Grandma. It was sudden. She was diagnosed with cancer the end of May and left us the end of June. She’s left behind a great void in all of our lives, and, as well, with The Lindsay Foundation.
Helen, as she was known by, to all of you, had her hands in just about every aspect of this organization. From handling our public speaking to monitoring our e-mail to creating and editing this website. She responded to all application requests and handled purchase orders following meetings when those applications were approved. For many years, she coordinated our volunteers and worked behind the scenes prior to ALL events. There will never be another like her.
Unfortunately, we are in a time of reorganization, as we try to fill some very large shoes. As myself, and the Board of Directors continue to work full-time jobs, we can’t do what Mom did. I don’t know of any other ONE person that will be able to do all that she did…and as a volunteer. She was never compensated for anything that she did. It is necessary for us to figure things out, so that we can continue to operate in a positive way. For this reason, The Lindsay Foundation will not be accepting any new applications for assistance until January. We are sorry for any hardship or inconvenience that this may cause, but it is what we need to do right now.
We ask for your patience and understanding as we try to get things sorted out. We will be back soon. God bless you and thank you for your continued prayers and support.
The Lindsay Foundation
